31 Ways to Improve Your Life

Although this entire year has been full of painful adjustments and growth, July has definitely given its share of punches. And at the end of the month, I’ve decided to look back and find some value in the hardships. So in this post, I hope you can find value and adopt at least one of these tips in taking care of yourself this year. 

  1. Call your parents often because tomorrow isn’t promised. 
  2. Just drink your water. Your body will appreciate it. 
  3. Go outside and look up. The sky and trees are beautiful and deserve some attention. 
  4. Eat your veggies. They are definitely good for you. 
  5. Have a self care day once a week. (Face mask, long bath, light candles, etc) 
  6. Never go to bed without doing something for yourself or your hustle. 
  7. Get a planner or electronic calendar and use it faithfully. 
  8. Have a set of toiletries at frequently visited locations (significant other’s house, office, car). 
  9. Take your vitamins. 
  10. Clean your bedsheets… It’s probably long overdue. 
  11. Ask mom/grandma/grandpa/dad for your favorite childhood recipes. 
  12. Spend some time alone and get to know yourself. 
  13. Read more books. 
  14. Or listen to audiobooks
  15. Take more pictures 
  16. Find a movie you use to love as a kid and rewatch it. You’ll be surprised by what you missed back then. 
  17. Update your resume. It’s probably long overdue too. 
  18. Listen to the people around you because you never know what they’re going through. 
  19. Clean under your fingernails 
  20. Get a women’s/men’s health exam or a vision exam. 
  21. Toss out the old to make room for the new. 
  22. Browse your contacts and social media follows and eliminate toxicity. 
  23. Consolidate your gift cards so they’ll be on hand. 
  24. Keep a first aid kit on hand. 
  25. Ask your elders questions about their life and record their answers. (This is literally your history) 
  26. Make a budget 
  27. Educate yourself on your money (spending habits, take home vs taxes, assets, liabilities, etc) 
  28. Pay yourself first (savings/investments) 
  29. Be nice to yourself. 
  30. Find the balance between hard-work and playtime. 
  31. Empty the sink of dishes every night.
